Reflection on the Semester
Over the course of this semester I've come to learn a lot about the subtleties of narration to create a compelling story. Personally, I felt that the technical aspects of learning illustration techniques was less prevalent when compared to the help that it has given me from a conceptual standpoint. I feel that I can compose scenes with more deliberate stylistic choices, essentially know what I'm doing better.
When searching for materials that would provide me some help in my works, I've also realized that many techniques that I have seen in film studies are just as applicable in a drawn or written medium as well. After looking back at what I have learned in this module, I have also come to appreciate the small, easily missed details that can help give a scene impact.
The management of time was also something that I felt was one of the most important qualities when organizing my work. The works that were done in this module were some of my favourites in this semester. However, many of these works were the most demanding in terms of the sheer volume of work that is required, though I still enjoyed every second of the craft.
